Vintage Colorful Murano Glass Clown Holding an Accordion
Long ago when I was a child, (1950's), we looked forward to opening the Christmas gift from my uncle. One year, we opened it and it was this wonderful, colorful glass clown holding a guitar. My parents treasured that clown and kept it displayed in the book shelves in the family room. When my son was a child, the colors caught his eye and he always wanted to play with it. Of course, he wasn't allowed. When he graduated from college, my Mother gave him the clown. He received another clown from my sister as a wedding gift. Of course when you have 2 of something, you become a collector. I bought many clowns over the years and added to his collection. Our family still like these clowns, especially those with an instrument. This clown is holding a red and white accordion. He measures 8 1/2" tall. His small black hat is topping his bright yellow hair and wonderful face. His body is multi-color end of the day glass. His button and cuffs are black. Gold mica is scattered throughout the body. He appears to be perfect. Great for adding to or starting your collection.
