This vintage British sweets tin is shaped like a fine wood campaign trunk with brass straps, enforcements, and escutcheon. It is really a tin box measuring 6 3/4" x 4 3/4" x 3 1/2". As the biscuit tins, many of the early confectionery tins made in Britain where quite attractive and used long after the original contents had been consumed. This one was made for the Geo Bassett & Co. Ltd. Manufacturing Confectioners Sheffield England. There is a lock mechanism but no key. The tin is in nice condition. Minor dents to the lid as well as some scratches. Its usefulness is still an asset.
