This is a highly desirable mid 19th century pot lid. It is one of a series of "Cries of London". This transfer printed lid is titled, Cries of London, Who Will Buy My Lavender. It shows a fine gentleman listening to the sales pitch of the young woman showing her basket of lavender for sale. The man has his dog (Dalmatian) on a leash. This lid is framed in a dark finished frame with a hanger attached for each of displaying. The overall measurement is 5 1/2" in diameter. Very good condition. There is crazing and wear to the rim consistent with the age of the pottery. This is one of a series of 4, each being offered separately.
