This is a highly desirable mid 19th century pot lid. It is one of a series of "Cries of London". This transfer printed lid is titled, Cries of London, Fine Black Cherries. It shows a gentleman listening to the sales pitch of the young woman showing her Black Cherries for sale. There is a dog at the base of the table. This lid is framed in a dark finished frame with a hanger attached for each of displaying. The overall measurement is 5 1/2" in diameter. Very good condition. There is crazing and wear to the rim consistent with the age of the pottery. This is one of a series of 4, each being offered separately.
