The English pottery Charles Allerton made children's dishes (late 19th century) in various patterns. This pattern is named WATER HEN. This offering is a group of 3 cup & saucer sets. Each saucer measures 4 1/2" in diameter. The cups each measure 2 1/2" in diameter and 2" tall. The group is transfer printed in red with a near and far landscape featuring a large hen in the foreground. The bottom of each saucer is marked with a Staffordshire Knot with the name WATER HEN and the number 754. One cup has a rather large chip on the rim. Otherwise the set is in good condition. There are printing irregularities characteristic of these children's dishes.
