I bought this item 20 years ago, because I thought it was really unique and interesting. I still feel the same way. I have never tried to sell it for I do not know its age or anything about it. It is a curved, carved bowl with a pedestal. The bowl is made from a gourd or coconut shell. The top of the bowl is woven with reeds. There is a round lid which fits over the neck. The lid also has reed weaving. There is a twisted reed handle. The bowl measures 6 1/2" tall (not including the handle). It is 5 1/2" in diameter at its widest point. There is a piece which at some time attached the lid to the handle. This is no longer attached. Very decorative piece.
