This biscuit jar has a flow blue design of open tulip-like flowers. The white of the background is entirely covered with gilt. The top rim, lid, and handle are silver plate. In polishing the silver plate over the years. the gilding has been worn around the rim. The base of the jar has a very blurred mark. The mark is a circa 1888 mark of the Thomas Forester & Co. Staffordshire pottery. The biscuit barrel measures 7" tall by approximated 6" in diameter at its widest point. The piece is in very good condition. There is the wear to the gilding. Crazing which shows in the bottom and base. Beautiful flow blue piece and quite unusual.
