The lid of this tin is outstanding. It has a bright blue background behind a portrait of a girl with a kitten. The label under the portrait is Detail Jean Baptiste Perroneau. Jean was a French painter who specialized in portraits executed in pastels. This is a detail of one of his portraits. British tins often had lithograph copies of famous works of art. The bottom of this tin is marked Peek Frean & Co. Ltd. London S.E. 16 England. I would date this tin to the 1920's. The tin measures 8" x 10 1/4" 1 3/4". Good condition.
