This is part of a recently purchased collection of Victorian shell boxes. This as the others are in excellent condition and all date to the late 1800's. This box is shaped like a dresser with a mirror. The diamond shaped mirror is surrounded by shells. The dresser top has larger shells surrounded by small shells. The top lifts to show the box for storing small items or jewelry. The sides of the dresser is covered with figured paper. Tiny gold drawer pulls and a line delineating the drawer add to the dresser configuration. The base has a line of shells. The back and bottom are covered with faux wood grain paper. It measures 4 1/2" x 3" x 7" tall. One of the best I have ever owned.
