This is a really large flow blue platter measuring 14" x 18" and weighing 5 lbs. It is earlier than many flow blue patterns being dated 1860. The mark indicates the pattern which is VENICE and the maker, P.B.&H. (Pinder, Bourne, and Hope) Staffordshire potteries. The rim of the plate is gently scalloped and printed a diaper design of quatrefoils set in diamonds. There are 8 floral arrangements around the edge. The center has a large roses with foliage. In spite of its age, this platter is extremely clean. One minor flake on the underside of the rim. Otherwise, excellent condition.
