This is an AUTHENTIC Late Victorian ~ Edwardian Era Pin. I believe this PETITE Antique Pin was manufactured as a fashion accessory for either a young girl or possibly her special doll.
Sterling Silver pin is designed as a Wishbone (we all know as a symbol for luck) with a Swallow bird flying in the center (popular during the Victorian era & often gifted as a romantic token). Nicely Detailed silver jewelry MEASURES ~ 7/8 x 3/8 Inches and is CLEARLY Marked "STERLING" and the Maker's Mark for Uncas - a "U" with an arrow running through it. This Providence R.I. company was founded in 1911 by Vincent Sorrentino. Retains its ORIGINAL 'all in one' twisted wire 'C' clasp & pin stem.
Sweet Doll Jewelry (maybe a romantic piece worn by a gentleman on his lapel?) is from a Central NY collector who purchased numerous pieces of doll/children's jewelry from me 20 years ago - more to be listed soon. It was untouched when I sold it to her and she did not disturb the old dark patina (could easily be cleaned/polished if so desired). This RARE miniature pin is in VERY GOOD CONDITION!
Would make a SUPER Baby Gift or for a BELOVED Heirloom China Head ~ Porcelain Doll or Mohair Teddy Bear. Uncommon addition to YOUR early 1900's silver pin, Uncas Jewelry, Antique or Vintage clothing ~ accessory collection!
