GREAT Looking & NICELY Detailed Art Deco Era Sterling Silver Flower or Ribbon ~ Bow Pin may have been cast in a silversmith's studio. When I first saw this piece, I thought it had to be Early Mexican by one of the great jewelers ~ artisans of the time. LARGE 3 Dimensional Silver fashion accessory probably dates to the 1930's and its focal point is the oval grayish ~ lavender MOONSTONE cabochon set in a deep bezel with a ring of beading all the way around it. If you look closely you can still see the marks from the hand filing along the edges of the pin.
This hard to find jewel is one of the birthstones for the month of June. The ancient Romans and Greeks believed moonstones to be emerged from the moonlight and always kept this stone close to their hearts for many of its magical healing and curative prowess.
