C.1940 Art Deco triangular shape silver over brass pin was purchased as a souvenir ~ memento of a trip out West to Arizona. The Desert View Watchtower (Indian Watchtower at Desert View) is a 70 foot high stone building on the South Rim of the Grand Canyon.
Highly Collectible & uncommon vintage National Park pin is completely unmarked however; its design is virtually IDENTICAL to Sterling Silver Travel Charms by Bates & Klinke (founded in 1919 in Attleboro Massachusetts by Harold Bates & Oscar Klinke). This company made souvenir charms for national parks and other tourist attractions all over the country. Early souvenir jewelry MEASURES ~ 3/4 x 1/2 Inches and is in VERY GOOD CONDITION! Image is crisp (although my pictures may not be as sharp as I'd like) - has not been cleaned in many years & displays old patina that attests to its age... Retains ORIGINAL all in one wire pin, 'C' clasp and spring hinge securely soldered to the reverse.
Would make a GREAT addition to your National Park, Wildlife Vacation or Historic attraction souvenir charm ~ jewelry collection!
