Highly collectible vintage Native American Silver Brooch (surprisingly) was crafted by a member of the Navajo tribe. I thought by its overlay design that it was hand crafted by a Hopi silversmith. This slightly domed oval pin depicts a figure in Native costume (I believe it is a Medicine Man not a Kokopelli) in the center, flanked on either side by symbols for rain and clouds (change & renewal). The background is purposely oxidized to highlight all of its design elements.
BOLD Finely crafted Native American jewelry MEASURES ~ 1 1/2 Inches E-W and is Stamped "HANDMADE NAVAJO" on the Reverse. It also has a symbol scratched on back which I am unable to identify - probably the Hallmark of the Navajo Silversmith who created it. I GUARANTEE this GREAT looking piece of Navajo jewelry to be Solid Silver (probably Sterling).
Native American Silver Pin to be in GOOD CONDITION! Retains ORIGINAL Fully Functional Locking Clasp, Hinge & Pin Stem. It has not been professionally buffed/polished, displays some old patina & only shows minute signs of wear/use that attest to its age.
Would make an AMAZING Gift for a man or woman... or addition to your American Indian, Navajo or Southwestern Jewelry Collection!
