MODERNIST Silver Brooch is one of the COOLEST I've seen. From its Brutalist design, I believe this Mid Century MOD pendant dates C.1955 - 1965. Hefty Wearable Art piece reminds me a bit of the sculptures of Don Quixote... tilting at the windmill. It is possible that it may have been created by an Israeli silversmith.
The precious silver has a deliberately dark pewter ~ steel oxidized coloring and a textured surface - looks like you dragged a comb across it (imitates a clay sculpture). I hope you are able to get its full effect from my photos. Three Dimensional Mid Century Modern jewelry is PERFECT for either a Man or Woman - even a COOL/HIP Teenager.
Vintage Sterling Silver jewelry MEASURES ~ 2 1/2 x 1 1/2 Inches, WEIGHS ~ 14 Grams (just shy of 1/2 Troy Oz) and is in VERY FINE CONDITION! ... has not been professionally buffed ~ polished and retains FULLY Functional locking clasp, hinge, pin stem and oversized integral loop for a leather thong, black cord or silver chain. It is Marked "925" for Sterling Silver on the Reverse and what I believe to be 2 Hebrew Letters.
Would make a TERRIFIC Birthday or Addition to your Sterling Silver Pendant, Wearable Art ~ Sculpture or Modernist Jewelry Collection - Guaranteed NOT to disappoint!
