This is a sculptural piece of Modernist Silver jewelry made by an AMERICAN studio designer whose works are signed "LORE". Hand crafted sterling pin was produced in the 1950's or 1960's and reminds me of dancers.... resembles 3 open amoeba like 'diamonds' that overlap a bit. I have seen a few signed pieces (cufflinks) by this talented silversmith but have not found much information about him/her.
Modernist Studio jewelry MEASURES ~ 2 7/8 x 1 Inches, is stamped "LORE" and (very lightly) "STERLING" on the reverse. You will find this brooch to be in VERY GOOD CONDITION! Retains FULLY Functional Locking Clasp, Pin Stem & Hinge on reverse... has not been polished recently & displays only minute tarnish/patina that attests to its age - could easily be removed if so desired.
Would make a UNIQUE Gift (what's better than wearable art?) or Addition to YOUR Mid Century Modernist, Designer Signed Silver Pin ~ Jewelry Collection! PERFECT for a man or woman... on denim, wool or that little black dress. Fresh from a Cape Cod Mass. estate.
