This Vintage Sterling Silver Pin has so much attention to detail it is AMAZING! C.1950 Equestrian jewelry has an open oval shape 'frame' that has a polished/shiny finish. The horse head appears to be mounted to the frame and has a deliberately dull finish to the silver which make its look more like a piece of sculpture. His ears up at attention, forelock combed over to the side, eyes*, mouth* & nostril* flaring (*these are are actually finished with a bright surface). You can also see his muscular neck, face & part of his mane.
Mid Century horseback riding pin MEASURES ~ 2 x 1 3/8 Inches, is stamped "STER CD" on reverse & is in VERY GOOD CONDITION! ...was only lightly cleaned - not polished/buffed & may have been manufactured with a lacquer or rhodium finish to help retard tarnish. Metal is still bright/shiny and I GUARANTEE you that it looks far better than my photos ('spotting' is virtually invisible in person)
Figural equine jewelry would make a SUPER Gift for a Horseback Rider, trainer, instructor, Vet Tech or horse lover. This OUTSTANDING pin is fresh from a buying trip across New England.
