This piece of 3 Dimensional Mid Century Modernist South American (probably Peruvian) jewelry really packs a punch visually. Hand hammered silver background is accented with a gun metal color oxidized finish. In the very center is a finely detailed RICH yellow gold color (possibly 18 Karat) figure of a TUMI. In addition, he is surrounded by a silver frame resembling stone blocks ~ bricks. The overall appearance & unusual shape of the brooch reminds me of an ancient pyramid.
Vintage Pre - Colombian Inca type jewelry Measures a MAX. of 1 3/8 Inches Top to Btm., 1 1/4 inches Across the Base, 1/8+ Inches Thick and WEIGHS Over 10 Grams (approx. 1/3 Troy Oz.). It is Stamped "925" on the reverse and another illegible Mark that may very well be "18K". You will find this 65 +/- Year Old figural pendant or pin to be in VERY GOOD CONDITION! Retains original fully functional locking clasp, pinch hinge, pin stem and hand crafted fixed bail (for a pendant chain or leather thong). Has not been professionally buffed/polished and looks SUPER!
This is a GREAT piece of South American wearable art for a man or woman.
