C.1925 petite "Sterling Silver Top" brooch was purchased as a souvenir ~ memento of a trip to a nearly 3,500-sq.-mile wilderness recreation area atop a volcanic hot spot. Yellowstone Park was established by the U.S. Congress and signed into law by President Ulysses S. Grant on March 1, 1872. It is the World's First National Park & flagship of the National Park Service. The park is mostly in Wyoming (spreads into parts of Montana & Idaho too). Yellowstone features dramatic canyons, alpine rivers, lush forests, hot springs and gushing geysers, including its most famous, Old Faithful.
A raised image of a Grizzly Bear is featured in the center of the pin which resembles the Sterling Charm by Bates & Klinke that I am also offering for sale (Item ID:16-3518). Highly Collectible silver souvenir jewelry has a Deco BOW style design that the miniature charm is mounted on. Early souvenir pin MEASURES ~ 3/4 x 3/8 Inches and is in GOOD CONDITION! ...has not been polished in many years & displays old dark patina that attests to its age - under 10 power magnification I can see that the face of the bear is not well defined (not sure if it was cast that way or is worn from treasured use). Retains ORIGINAL Fully Functional Broad "C" Clasp, Hinge & Pin Stem.
Would make a GREAT addition to your National Park, Wildlife Vacation or Historic attraction sterling jewelry collection! This is a pretty Rare piece to have survived all these years.
