Vintage Native American Silver Pin is hand crafted and signed "JJ" by the silversmith that created it... I believe it to be Johnny Johnson (Navajo) who was former silversmith at 'Maisel's' and is known for his stamp work.
American Indian jewelry is semi-circular and has hand stamped designs from its neck all the way down its tail. It also has four feet each with 3 toes and a head with stamped circles for eyes and a 'V' impression for its nose/nostrils.
Newt-like amphibian MEASURES ~ 1 5/8 x 1/2 Inches and is Marked "STERLING HAND MADE" and "JJ" on the reverse. Retains its ORIGINAL Fully Functional Locking Clasp, Hinge & Pin Stem. Adorable bug pin is in VERY GOOD CONDITION! Unusual piece for your Native American jewelry collection!
