My jaw dropped when I found this AMAZING Early Art Deco period glossy black & white enamel and marcasite dog pin. Canine jewelry was designed to represent a Terrier Dog... Scottish, West Highland or Skye?
PERFECTLY groomed puppy dog is strutting his stuff... ears & tail up at attention, white enamel collar around his neck, black enamel coat or sweater, and his tail, ears, head and legs are all set with marcasite. He even has a Ruby color cabochon eye.
FIGURAL Pin MEASURES ~ 1 1/8 Inches Nose to Tail & a Max. of 1 Inch Ears to Paws. I was surprised when I turned it over to find that it was not made in France or Germany... it is truly top of the line QUALITY! It is clearly marked "STERLING" and retains its early fully functional thumb latch locking clasp, hinge & pin stem.
CLASSIC Vintage Terrier jewelry is in VERY NICE CONDITION! ...NO Nicks, Chips, Cracks or Loss to the enamel - minor wear to black enamel primarily visible under magnification (light scratches and pin prick size burst bubbles/dimples which probably occurred during mfr.). Has been gently buffed and may have been made with a lacquer or rhodium finish to help retard tarnish.
SPECTACULAR GIFT or Addition to YOUR animal, figural, dog, enamel or marcasite jewelry collection!
