C.1915 - 1925 European crafted solid silver necklace was probably made in Austria or Germany - based upon the "835" precious metal content. Three Dimensional rectangular shape pendant (has all 4 corners cut on an angle) features 4 wonderfully detailed leaves & curvy vines surrounding a 4 petal flower - dogwood blossom? The center of the flower is bezel set with a lovely dark orange Genuine Coral Cabochon (almost Sardinian Red). I guarantee you haven't seen another bail like the one on this necklace... truly unique!
I don't know if the 16 Inch Long Pendant Chain is original to the 1 7/8 Inch Long Drop (including bail) however; I can tell you they are both Marked "835". The pendant is stamped on the back of the bail and the chain is Marked on a diamond shape loop that attaches to the clasp.
You will find this DRAMATIC piece of Vintage Coral jewelry to be in VERY GOOD CONDITION! NO NICKS, CHIPS or Excessive Wear - Silver has not been cleaned recently & displays OLD Patina that could easily be removed if so desired. Would make a SUPER Gift or addition to your coral jewelry collection!
Coral was long thought to be a strong talisman against bleeding, evil spirits, and hurricanes. The Victorians believed it would ward off sickness.
