C.1915-1925 Rhodium Plated 8-sided pierced frame pin has an embossed 'beaded' running vine & flower type design all the way around it. The Focal point is the the reverse painted BUTTERFLY in the center... firmly held in place by a sawtooth frame ~ mounting. Essex crystal type jewelry has an iridescent background that looks like Mother of Pearl.
Late Edwardian ~ Art Deco era pin MEASURES ~ 1 x 1 3/8 Inches and is unsigned (sometimes they are Marked CZECH) - if you look closely, you can see that the very edge of the glass is faceted - NO NICKS, CHIPS, CRACK or Signs of Excessive Wear ~ Abrasion to the glass. Retains "C" Clasp, Hinge & Pin Stem securely mounted to reverse... has not been cleaned/polished - minute corrosion to frame that is only visible under 10 power magnification (mentioned for complete accuracy - I am VERY fussy). Overall this RARE example (flowers are much more common) is in VERY NICE CONDITION!
Would make a lovely gift for an avid gardener or addition to your reverse painted jewelry, essex crystal, goofus glass or butterfly pin collection!
