Ciro vintage perfume bottle with geometric shape and Bakelite top. The commercial perfume bottle was designed by Brosse. This is the largest version of this designed perfume bottle by Ciro. It use to hold the scent "Danger" which came out in 1936 from Paris, France. Ciro also had an establishment in New York as well.

I have this in three sizes but this is the largest, is beautiful and in great condition. I read where the crystal bottles of this were made by Baccarat. However this does not have a Baccarat Logo on the bottom.

It still has the gold lettering on the black "outer" stopper, which states, "Danger" and "Ciro". The black top is made of Bakelite which is a heavy resin, Bakelite was used for jewelry and many items during WWII when metal was unavailable because almost all metals went towards the war effort in making equipment. It is heavy but not glass. There is an inner cork lining. There is also a inner glass dauber which is covered by the black stopper. It is a wonderful bottle in super shape. Quality.

The Commercial perfume bottle has a great a geometrical shape. This one is striking standing at 4" tall. If it isn't crystal it is a high quality glass. No seams.
Flat across bottom with no mold marks.

You can find this bottle in several of the perfume bottle books including "Commercial Perfume Bottles" by Jacquelyn Jones North who says this about the bottles you see here. (Pg. 128) "The inspiration for Ciro's "Danger" bottle was a Baccarat vase displayed at the French Exposition of 1936. "Danger" was introduced in the United States in 1938.

I found this information about the shape very interesting! That would have been a very Deco piece in 1936, modern and striking to be a vase. I've seen postcards of it and it was huge.

I have both bottles so I thought I would show you the comparison in size. The larger one is heavy as it is crystal, but not marked Baccarat. Actually the Baccarat Circle Logo was not applied until 1938.
