Heirloom Christening Dress with hand tatted lace sleeves and embroidery, with MOP buttons. The small mother of pearl buttons have a carved design in the MOP. In very good and clean condition this dress has honored the memories of five generations starting 1910 ash. The hand tatted lace on the color and sleeves is a spectacular art form that is rarely practiced in todays fast pace of life. The embroidery on the front is expertly placed, stitch by stitch. Sadly, the end of the generations have come for this memory maker, but it is said that all who wore this Christening gown grew up to be healthy and productive and lived long lives. GREAT grandma said it was a good luck charm of sorts. Five generations.
Simple but elegant. Very nice condition. The rest of the dress is machine sewn.
The Christening dress could fit a infant to a one year old.
Long at 27 inches.
