Antique post card, Rare Dwig Post Card in great used condition. Clare Victor Dwiggins or Dwig for short was a cartoonist and illustrator who had quite a career, born in 1873 and died in 1959. Dwig did a lot of women but it was always the same woman with different outfits or different color of hair. It is said to be his wife. This is one of the less common of his postcard illustrations and it is a beauty. She has a tiny waist and distinctive look. He was cleaver, and also did a lot of comical presentation, including writing on a mirror of a postcard that would have to be deciphered by putting it up to a mirror. His work was in magazines and postcards and trade cards.
This post card is nicely embossed with no bends or tears and postmarked 1913.
