Hold to Light Antique postcard from before 1907. The illustrator is the infamous Frances Brundage. The card was published prior to 1907, and this you can tell by the lack of the middle line on the back. Prior to 1907 a message could not be written on the back of a postcard. Only an address. It literally took an act of Congress to make a small note possible, and thus the identifying line on the back came in 1907. This is how you can tell the date of antique postcards if there is not a postal date on the card. In very good and stable condition, hold it to light and it lights up! Beautiful colors explode on the more muted card when held to the sun or a light. The good ones like this one, are hard to find in the hold to light series of antique postcards. No bends or tears but age staining on the back. Postmarked 1906
