A rare vintage frosted crystal glass perfume bottle from the 1930's, by Hoffman-Schlevogt, grand glass craftsmen and designers of the finest glass of all time produced from the Bohemian areas of Czechoslovakia in the 1920's and 30's.
Heinrich Hoffman was a master glass man, who made stunning glass perfume bottles for years, with his crystal glass standing out in a highly competitive field at the time. Hoffman had a daughter, who later went on to marry but sadly, she died in childbirth, but her baby daughter survived. The grandchild of Hoffman was named "Ingrid". He
Ingrid's father was Henry Schlevogt, the widower, who was in his own right a master craftsman of glass and a designer. Schlevogt developed the marbleized glass used for vanity items such as Malachite and Lapis Lazuli opaque glass that looks like marble. He even received high rewards and prizes for his acclaimed glass. Schlevogt also designed items such as the Venetian type buttons and jewelry with glass beads. He and Hoffman collaborated in 1934 to bring their talents in design together to create the "Ingrid" collection. The logo for these bottles is usually a small butterfly somewhere in the fantasy scenes of cherubs, angels nymphs and nudes and other whimsical figures in molded crystal glass. This one does have a butterfly.
In perfect condition with the exception of the stopper, which is stuck. You can look into the yellow liquid and see the long glass dauber. The stunning perfume bottle is frosted glass with various whimsical scenes of angels, cherubs and nymphs. There are minor age scratches on the bottom of the 9 inch tall bottle which includes the frosted glass stopper. Two cherubs are intertwined in the glass of the stopper. No chips or cracks. I'm not certain if the liquid is perfume or factice liquid but it makes it look like the perfume bottle of crystal is made of yellow glass, when in fact, it is frosted glass.
The the perfume flask has 8 sides to it, with four smaller panels that are clear and you can view the magnificent long dauber attached to the stopper. Stunning. The large perfume container came with several different stoppers. The stopper is frosted glass. Look for the intertwined cherubs.
