"Shocking" was the perfume in this 1937, from Paris, Schiaparelli's figural glass perfume bottle with a few of the glass flowers remaining. I have the "whole" of one of these and mine is on a cardboard stage with a glass dome. This is one of the bottle that have been separated from a cardboard stage anyway. There would have been more glass made flowers on the bottle as well, at least the one I have, has more. But still a great piece for the collector of commercial perfume bottles.
You can find this Schiaparelli "travel size" perfume bottle in the book, "Perfume, Cologne and Scent Bottles" by Jacquelyn Jones - North. It is 3 " tall with out the flowers.
Although you will find this perfume bottle in the most popular of perfume bottle books, it is still difficult to find and it usually isn't perfect when you do. The whole one I have was given to me by my best friend who was quite a bit older than me! Such a gift! Anyway, this one has not chips or cracks and the dauber is long. It is hard to show the form of the clear glass bottle, but it does have a … extended bosom… hopefully I said that in a tasteful manner. Made to look like a ladies form or ladies dressmaker…like the ones used to make clothing on! This is a smaller version of the one I have and stands at 3" tall. Small but too tall for a mini perfume bottle!
