Large Blue Topaz in rich, deep turquoise blue color, that reminds me of the Caribbean Seas. Highly faceted and in a great pear shape. This semi precious stone pendant is from the 1980's. It has a 33 Caret weight and set with a sterling silver bail, and marked 925. 925/1000 with 1000 being solid silver, 925 is sterling or solid silver with a small amount of other metal for stability. The large blue topaz sits atop of a sterling silver frame that keeps the back of the stone off of your skin, more comfort for wearing and to display the stunning stone of blue. This is a color that is true to what is called Swiss Blue Topaz for its' turquoise-aqua color.
The stone is by inches: 1 1/3 inch by 5/8 inch by 3/8 inch deep.
The stone by mm is : 32mm X 13mm by 9mm
Calculated to be 23.9 carat weight
Checkerboard cut to the Pear cut shaped Blue Topaz
From an Estate of jewelry where there were many pendants from the 1980's with precious and semi precious stones and this is just one of them. It is truly stunning.
Now that I see the pictures blown up, I see it needs a good polishing. It has been stored for some time. I will be happy to do this before its departure.
