French, sterling silver and Guilloche enamel graces this vinaigrette from about 1897. The enamel is in great condition with just a few tiny light scratches on one side. Looks new but is an antique and a lady would place a cotton ball or piece of fabric soaked in Ammonia and would sniff it, if she was around foul odors or getting ready to faint from the heat. It was quite the necessary accessory before A/C and ceiling fans. Looks new, it is so nice. Lovely sky blue enamel. This likely never had a screen, the top pulls off and slides when on to open and close. The traders for sterling is above the number. Small. It is French.
