This has yet to be pulled out of the box. It was opened on top but never pulled out. A small tear in the top to reveal what seems to be a black bakelite top.

I purchased this bottle because it was completely unopened. Then I went to a show and when stepping away for a few minutes, someone managed to do what should NOT have been done, but opened the box to look inside! I know this de-valued the box, but it was never pulled out. After she realized it likely wasn't a bottle by R. Lalique, she didn't want it, and did not understand how she devalued the bottle by opening it. Asking me how I was ever going to sell it without knowing what the bottle looked like!! Well, she has a point, but as a perfume bottle enthusiast there is a lot of value in an old boxed perfume bottle that has never been opened! Well, anyway, we know it's not a Lalique bottle but likely from 1918-1935. Bakelite was the rage then and many perfume manufacturers were using bakelite for bottles such as colognes and toilet waters.

The box is obviously still in great condition with paper still around it. I did not pull out the bottle to see what it looks like. There is still a piece of cotton on top of the bottle inside the paper that the bottle is wrapped up in, inside the box. This box is 4 and 5/8 inches tall. The liquid is still full in the bottle, although I can't see it, it is heavy and you can hear it. The perfume was made in 1911, and R. Lalique made some of the bottles that the extract came in. But usually Lalique bottles are not "Eau de Cologne". I would guess this holds about 8 ounces of the D'Orsay scent. D'Orsay was known for their seductive scents.

You know the cologne is still pristine, as the bottle has not been opened, or even pulled from the box. A good find.
