Karl Palda Czechoslovakian blue color glass, tending to be more turquoise, with an etched rose on front in black enamel. The stopper is an authentically old Czechoslovakian Stopper with an etched design with a big butterfly on the Lily of the Valley Flowers. Do you see the butterfly?? It is a large bottle and the bottle is in very good condition one has no chips or cracks. The bottle is 4 inches tall and 4 inches wide, but with the stopper the total size of the bottle is 9 inches tall, when adding the 5 inch stopper. Large and beautiful.
I see about four small chip-pies in the stopper from the size of a pencil tip to one which is a short sliver from the side about 1/8th of an inch. You have to look hard to find them…I use my fingers and shut my eyes to find them!! Because I can feel them better than seeing them!
A prior owner has made an adjustment to the bottom of the stopper to fit the bottle, or it may have been broken and was not able to sit in the bottle, but it has a metal band around the end of the glass dauber so it will fit into the bottle. Broken or marriage, either way it still has a little wiggle, and will not set in place like a glass stopper to glass bottle would, with a half of turn. This is why I believe it is a marriage.
However, I think it is a beautiful marriage and I have had this in my personal collection for years. Someone went the extra mile to try and make it whole and lovely again. The color of glass is quite rare! The color of the glass is a deep blue rather than the light blue. The perfume bottle was made by Karl Palda. He made many Deco era bottles with Deco designs. His bottles had the enamel with deco flair.
