A hand mirror in French enamel, also called Champleve. These piece were only made from 1850-1885. This is a beautiful hand mirror with the original mirror, beveled. As you can see there is some silver loss on the mirror.
This graced my walls for the last 25 years. I had a wall with nothing but antique and vintage hand mirrors hanging from it. I called it my expensive wall paper. Stunning and fun!
The enamel looks good and the mirror is very stable to be adored for generations to come.
It is 10 inches long and 4 inches wide. The gold metal has darkened with time and there is one small nail out of the back. The mirror is a little loose. Great for display…and beautiful.
