Trimmed in Eyelet lace is this authentically old baby bonnet that would be quite appropriate for your favorite doll now. It is nicely lined with a muslin cotton. Well made and old. Women and children and even babies wore these types of bonnets called "prairie bonnets" as it would protect woman's and girls faces from the harsh prairie sun. The lace is an off-white and may have been white at one time. An old ribbon remains that would have tied the bonnet under a child or babies chin.
This piece is one of many I purchased from a friend of mine who purchased the clothes of a Victorian museum that never came to fruition in Minnesota. I purchased the children's items from him as I love authentic old pieces for those beautiful old dolls that you love to collect and admire! We love old doll accessories! Thank you for stopping by "Time in a Bottle".
