Edwardian Doll Child Collar Crocheted Pin On For Dress
From Victorian or Edwardian Era is this lovely and perfect crochet "collar" or dress front, which is made to dress up a dress to make it look like a different dress. This one is small and might possible fit on one of your Bebe baby dolls. It was made for a child.
By the size of this frontal lace, or what is called a "Pin On" it was made for a small child. People didn't have but a few dresses. Many houses didn't even have closets and if they did have such a luxury the closets were very small. Some were lucky or wealthy enough to have Amours to hang their clothes. Most kept their clothes in a Chest of drawers or Chest. Accessories like this crocheted piece, changed up the wardrobe! This would be attached to the front of a plain dress to "fancy" it up for church or special events. It could be pinned on or basted onto the front of another garment.
This is hand crocheted and in excellent condition. A dying art, at least crocheting of this size stitch. Quite small! Great hand made lace work here. Someone knew their art form well!
Could be used for your favorite doll's dress! It is 9" long and 7 1/2" at the widest part which is the top of the hand crochet dress front. For your doll or as a collectible piece of garment accessories such as collars or textiles.
