English sterling silver chatelaine match safe. The silver vesta case is decorated with engraved and chased foliate patterns. English sterling silver hallmarks for John Rose of Birmingham with a date mark of 1907. Rigid side loop for an attachment to a chatelaine chain. The front of the vesta case has a rounded shape and a concave-shaped back. On the front, there is an unengraved cartouche and the lid snaps firmly closed. The match holder measures roughly 2" x 1 3/4" x .25". Nice original patina and in excellent antique condition.
