Offered for sale is an antique Victorian Aesthetic Movement silverplate pitcher. Beautiful repousse decorations of figural fish, birds, butterflies and dragonflies. Swag decorations and hammered finish are the backdrops for the fish. The antique silverplate pitcher dates to around the 1890s. There is some overall tarnish, light scratches, and some loss to the silverplate. There are three deep scratches to the rim edge of the spout. The pitcher is solid and of excellent quality and a fine example of late nineteenth-century Aesthetic Movement silverplate. The Victorian era pitcher or jug measures about 5.5 inches wide by 8.75 inches tall. Unfortunately this wonderful pitcher is unsigned with the exception of the hand-engraved numbers 309 as well as a 9 or a 6.
