The jug commemorates the World War Two liberation of the Netherlands by the allied forces defeat against Hitler and Nazi Germany. Depicted on the pitcher is a lion breaking free from its shackles or barbed wire, with the allied forces flags of Great Britain, U.S.A, Russia, and France. “VRIJ 5 MEI 1945 NEDERLAND”.
