American Coin silver water pitcher made by J. E. Caldwell Circa 1865 - 79. This water pitcher was presented by the Philadelphia Gun Club as an Annual Prize in 1879 to Dr.J. B. Kinney. Standing 14" tall and weighing 37.23 troy oz it was fulling repoussed and chased
with two inscriptions on each side. There are many different flowers, leaves and scrolls in the decoration. The spout has a fully chased three dimensional head. The handle has beautiful hand chased acanthus leaves . All original condition with no repairs. Marked: J.E. CALDWELL & STANDARD. Standard was one of the many terms identifying an item as being made of Coin Silver.
