Rare Antique Japanese Netsuke Buttons 7 Deities of Good Luck Original Box & Paper
Rare Find from an Auction House in San Francisco, California: a complete set of 7 Netsuke hand-painted resin buttons in their original condition. This set comes in its original box, still hand sewn on the original cardboard, with original paper listing the names of the 7 deities. These deities represent Good Luck.
Made in Japan in 1900-1920 for export to the European and American markets.
The Bamboo Box shows understandably some light damage, with a crack in the lid.
Individual button size is just shy of 1" x 3/4”.
Signature/Marks: The back of the buttons are incised with Japanese Characters, which are very tiny. Please see photos. One of the buttons was removed to show the marks on the back and will be re-attached.
Highly Collectible. If desired these buttons can be sewn on, creating a unique & custom item.
