We are proud to offer this Highly Collectible Vintage 1950's Native American Zuni Bolo Tie that features a 4" L x 2 3/4" W, Dancer with Sun God Shields, Eagle Feathers and Bells! The Bells are represented by Sterling Silver Drops on the right ankle and a strand of drops to the left ankle. The Sun Face Shields are set with Blood-Red Coral, Natural Blue Turquoise, Mother of Pearl & Black Onyx.
The Fantastic Headdress is carved of Gold Lip Shell & Black Onyx with Eagle Feather Designs. The Dancer is created on one piece of sterling silver, with overlaid edges and a combination of channel inlay and mosaic inlay.
The braided genuine leather tie measures 38" long, including the sterling silver cones & matching sun face tips, which measure 7/8" x 7/8" round. The Slide is secured with a "Bennett" Clasp.
The earlier works of this style are very difficult to acquire and especially one as this that's in wonderful condition.
Note: The etching on the headdress, leggings and raised inlay suggest the work of Eddie Beyuka, A Master Zuni Silversmith-Artist.
Excellent Condition with the exception of one small chip on the turquoise inlay on the right thigh area. Age: 1950's – Not marked but tested Sterling Silver.
Please note that this piece has not been polished because we leave the decision whether or not to preserve the patina up to the buyer.
