Presented for your consideration is an exquisite brooch designed by Alfred Philippe for Trifari - with a patent number 147865 issued in 1947. Tasha, which is probably short for Natasha is The Famous Trifari Female Russian Cossack dancer, featuring gold vermeil over sterling silver, a faux pearl face, cobalt blue-colored keystone rhinestone hat, and a rhinestone studded bodice and skirt that shows a sprinkling of tiny faceted clear rhinestones.
Tasha and Sasha (male Russian dancer) were advertised in 1947 as "Gold Plated Sterling Silver" with the wit, imagination, and superb delicacy so typical of Trifari". Marketed at price of $12.50 each.
The designs for these pins were filed on March 28, 1947; granted on Nov. 11, 1947 and hold the patent number 147,865.
Measurements: 1 5/8" Tall x 1 1/4” Wide (measured at the skirt).
Very Good Condition with some plate wear to the gold vermeil and (1) dark rhinestone.
Signature/Marks: “TRIFARI” with crown over the "T"; copyright symbol on the back of the dress; “STERLING” on her left arm.
