This exceptionally beautiful Antique Japanese Pocket Vesta Match Safe features a rectangular shaped 2-piece container, that measures 1 3/4” W x 3 1/4” Tall x 1/4” deep.

This Safe is beautifully crafted with repousse cherry blossoms & branches on one side, with bamboo stalks on the other side. Depicted at the base of the bamboo stalks is an interesting assortment of flora and fauna. Please see my photographs.

The entire background, on both sides is delicately scribed. There are monogrammed initials “DAH” on a dime size cartouche on the front.

To easily grasp the contents, the top is cut away in a scalloped design under the cap.

Signature / Marks: The top of the holder shows illegible marks.

Age: c. 1900

The case is not marked but tested 90% silver.

Condition – Very Good.

There is a slight indentation on the initial cartouche which I think is from holding the case there while taking the top off.
