This Fabulous early 1940’s Vintage Native American Navajo Concho Belt features (8) Sterling Silver, Oval, Hand-Formed, Domed Conchos, with Beautiful Scalloped Edges. The Conchas each measure 2 3/4” L x 2 3/8” W and show Sun-Rise Stampings along the edges and crossed arrow designs around the entire circumference.
There is fine hand chasing and punched floral forms on center which frame Natural Green Turquoise Nuggets that measure approximately 10mm round, which are set in serrated bezels.
Each Concho weighs approximately just over 1 ounce of Sterling Silver for a total Silver Weight, which includes the Buckle of approximately 9.5 ounces.
The Buckle measures 2 7/8” L x 2 3/4” W, almost square in shape, with (4) Repousse Leaves and Sun-Rise Stampings with chasing. The Buckle is open center, with a belt bar and (2) Natural Green Turquoise Nuggets, measuring approximately 10mm round on either side of the belt opening.
The Leather Belt measures 45” long and is secured with leather lacings to the belt buckle. There are no holes punched in the belt strap so you can punch the holes to have a perfect custom fit.
The Conchos are attached to the leather belt by 2 - copper slides that can be adjusted to any length of belt for a Custom Fit.
This is a Fine Example of Classic Navajo Art/Silversmithing in Excellent Condition. Age: 1940’s – Not marked but tests Sterling Silver.
