This Lovely Vintage Native American Navajo Rug features Natural and Vegetal Dyed, Hand-Spun Wool. This Rug is finely woven, counting (10) warps by (23) wefts to the square inch, with a pattern typical of the Crystal Reservation Area of Western Arizona. The Rug is borderless and is composed of rich, all vegetal earth-toned hues of brown, beige, gold, orange, pink and subtle touches of greens and maroons.
The “Modern” Crystal” Rugs, dating from the early 1940’s is one of the most distinctive and beautifully woven of all the different styles. The colors are soft in beautiful grays and pastels.
This Rug lies beautifully flat on the floor or hangs well on the wall.
The Rug measures 30” x 49”.
Excellent Condition. Please see the map for more details of the Crystal Area.
Many Rugs are displayed on the wall as Fine Art as the case with this one. There are no repairs. There is no odor to the rug; it comes from a smoke-free environment. We have been in our Family Oriental Rug Business since the 1930's.
I have included a Comparison Chart (the last of the photos) for the value and appreciation of Navajo Rugs for 1978 – 2005. This chart was taken from “Rugs & Posts” authored by H.L. James. The story of Navajo Weaving and Indian Trading.
