This highly ornate Art Nouveau, c1920's Sterling Silver Purse features an intricately engraved floral pattern, monogrammed with the initials “HCJ” in the center. The back of the purse is smoothly finished and engraved with the initials “MMJ”. The chain measures approximately 12” long.
The inside features two spring loaded coin holders to hold your change securely in place, a spring loaded Fleur de Lis Shaped Money Clip and a Lift-up Mirror. The Mirror is in Excellent Condition with no chips, cracks or cloudiness. The currency holder is large enough to tuck your business cards as well as your cash underneath.
There is a powder well underneath the mirror which was used for powder but now it can hold anything you wish to be “out of sight”.
Measurements: Overall length including carry chain is 9 1/8". The purse measures 3 1/2” Tall x 2 1/2” W. Weight: Approximately 3.4 ounces.
Signature/Marks: The Purse is marked twice; once on the powder compartment lid and on the inside of the cover. This Mark represents the Webster Company that was established in 1894 in North Attleboro, Massachusetts.
This case exhibits superior craftsmanship with all four sides aligning perfectly; hinges and closure are in perfect working condition. A small work of Art in itself and would be beautiful displayed as an Object d’ Art.
This Purse is in Excellent Vintage Condition with the exception of (1) of the two rings that attach the chain is slightly bent. There are a few tiny dings on the back.
