- “Night’s Fleeting Magic” -

This wonderful Native American Navajo Necklace features all hand-made beads with 3/4” long stamped melon beads and semi-round bench beads, strung on sterling silver chain. The necklace measures 18” long to the top of the pendant. A shield designed pendant holds a beautifully polished vibrant Blue Kingman Mine Turquoise Nugget, measuring 1/2” wide at the top and 3/4” long, set in a cut bezel setting. The entire shield pendant measures 1 1/8” W at the top by 1 1/4” L. Connected beneath the pendant is a double, back to back cone design, with tepee style stamping, measuring 1 1/4” L by 1/2” W at the waist. Connected to the bottom of the cones are (2) sterling silver long cones, measuring 2 1/2” and 2 3/4” L, with Turquoise Nuggets on the end of the cones.

The total length from the bi-cones to the turquoise nuggets is 3 1/2” and 3 3/4”. The necklace clasp is a fish-hook design with a figure-8 connector. At some time, two spring rings have replaced the jump rings at the clasp for a more secure connection.

* * - Later interpretations of this necklace point to the setting in the pendant as a “Lone Star”, with the bi-cone setting representing the moon and the long cones as the tails of double shooting stars. “Night’s Fleeting Magic”.

This necklace is an outstanding example of wearable Native American Art, exhibiting creativity that is rich in symbolism, in excellent condition.

Marked: STERLING and the initials “TKW”, which points to Tim Kee Whitman, who was a silver-smith for Atkinson Trading Company and The Woodards Indian Shop in Arizona.

We do not polish our sterling silver jewelry but leave that up to the buyer whether or not to preserve the patina.

Your Necklace will arrive in a custom Twinkle in Time gift box. Thank you for visiting A Twinkle in Time Vintage Jewelry & Accessories.
