Large coin collector's box from 19th century England hand made and inlaid with satinwood and ebony narrow 3/8 inch banding on the lid,booked and matched along with elongated center design against a fruitwood background. Wonderful patina to all including large walnut trim surrounding the top and mahogany sides.
Small brass latch unlocks the lid and bottom lined in brown velvet. Thirty one wells,2 inches diameter for the coins. A drawer located on the side with brass knob for additional coins. The drawer extends below the bottom surface of the coin area and features wooden peg stops. Stands on 4 raised feet which enables movement of the drawer. Excellent condition with no signs of wear.
