19th century hand carved breadboard depicts stalks of wheat carved into the center on either side and surrounded by dual decorative raised rings. One inch concave band frames the cutting surface. Probably made of maple, seasoned with a matte protective coating to keep food from penetrating the wood. Very nice grain to the wood.
Well cared for over the years as little wear to the cutting surface. No splitting of the wood.
Measures 10 5/8 inches long and wide by 1 inch high.
